Seattle Art Fair 9th Edition

Last weekend was the Seattle Art Fair’s 9th Edition at Lumen Field Event Center. I’m a little disappointed in myself for never attending before, but never again will I miss it! (As a Seattle Art Museum member, I received free passes, so there’s another reason to become a member)

@Taswira.gallery from Seattle’s Pioneer Square had a gorgeous exhibit of Cristina Martinez paintings.

There were about 100 exhibitors from Seattle and from all over the world: San Francisco, Oakland, Paris, New York, Tokyo, South Korea, Phoenix, London, Argentina, South Africa and many more. The diversity of art was the most exciting thing for me. It gives me such joy to see the creativity of artists who are new to me and to touch base with long established artists too. Greg Kucera Gallery’s space was huge and the first booth when you walk through the entrance.

We were greeted by a Deborah Butterfield horse. This is a still from a video on their Instagram, walking it from the gallery to the event center. What a feat!

They had a unique way of displaying art from most of the artists they represent. Each artist painted on a hexagonal wood panel and it gave a cohesiveness to the diverse styles.

One of my favorite Seattle artists, Graham Francois, @grahambunctious, had a piece in the Antler Gallery booth (@antlerpdx) where he has an upcoming solo show. I enthusiastically encourage you to experience the Seattle Art Fair next year.
